What to keep in the portable folder
The preview is supplied as an unpacked Windows desktop app. Keep CAM.exe, all DLLs and the supporting resources together in a writable folder. Moving only the launcher leaves required files behind.
Select the FH6 installation containing ForzaHorizon6.exe, close competing camera tools and start from a parked car in a normal driving view. No phone or RealCam dependency is used.
Bringing your existing settings?
Close the old app
Do not run two CAM versions against the same session. Close CAM before copying its data.
Back up your saved work
Preserve live-presets, flight-views, studio-data and backups. Keep logs if you are troubleshooting.
Keep the new package complete
The CAM identity update preserves existing data formats. Keep all supporting files beside CAM.exe.
Restart an old bridge session
If an earlier bridge is loaded in FH6, fully restart the game before connecting the new app.
Read the preview status before your first flight
CAM is a community preview with documented offline checks and reported in-game use. Confirm your game build and controller in a short, parked first session. Game updates and device drivers can affect compatibility.
Windows joystick/XInput support does not guarantee every USB or proprietary controller mode. Shared controls can still reach FH6. Start parked and verify your mappings before arming.
