Data and privacy

Know what stays on your machine.

A practical account of this website’s behavior and the desktop data used by CAM.

The website

The current site is a public product and guide website. Its authored code does not include an account form, newsletter form, advertising tracker or analytics SDK.

The interactive camera lab runs in your browser. It illustrates framing and does not connect to FH6, inspect your game, or read desktop CAM presets. Its current controls are held in page memory; the site does not intentionally save them to localStorage or sessionStorage.

In production, the page requests /functions/launch-info to retrieve the configured download URL, community URL and version. The request uses credentials: omit and does not include camera-lab settings or desktop data. Your browser still makes normal network requests for the website, fonts, images and files.

Hosting and external destinations

The site is hosted through Base44. Hosting infrastructure can process technical request information as part of serving a website. This page describes the CAM site code; it does not make a promise about every platform log or hosting technology.

Base44 publishes its own privacy policy. If you follow a download or Discord link, that destination may have its own data practices. Review the destination before choosing what to share.

Local desktop settings and saved work

The portable CAM app keeps its saved work and settings beside the app. These include camera presets and history in live-presets, saved views and starts in flight-views, device mappings and preferences in studio-data, and camera-file restore points in backups.

Preferences can include your selected game folder, theme and window settings. Input profiles contain mapping and calibration data for your devices and flight modes. Keep these folders when upgrading; close CAM before copying or editing them.

Diagnostic records and manual sharing

Live diagnostic recording starts when you choose Start recording in the desktop app. It records local camera, flight and input state to a diagnostic file, not video. You can stop and save it or reveal the file. The current recorder stops at 30 minutes or 64 MiB.

Startup and camera-service failures can also create local logs automatically. These are separate from user-started live recordings. A log may contain local paths, device details and diagnostic state.

CAM does not automatically submit these diagnostic reports. Review a file before sharing it manually for support. You control the copy you send and should use the chosen support destination’s own privacy information.

Scope of this note

These statements describe the reviewed CAM 0.15.0 code and this website as revised on October 25, 2026. They do not describe FH6, Windows, controller drivers or a third-party service you choose to use.
